Where to eat Kobe? Japan’s most famous meat

In the heart of Madrid’s Salamanca neighborhood, the Japanese restaurant Shinatora-Ya offers its customers authentic Kobe and Wagyu beef from Kobe’s own herds and certified by the Japanese government.

A unique Japanese restaurant that recalls the owner’s friendship with the Sinatra family, hence the name Shinatora-Ya.

Far from the traditional image of sushi and raw fish, the establishment opts for a menu where Wagyu beef, specifically from the Kobe denomination of origin, reigns supreme.

Kobe is nothing more than the Tajima breed of Wagyu beef produced in the municipality of Kobe, belonging to Hyögo prefecture. The beef must be born, raised and slaughtered in Hyögo. It must also meet a marbling grade of level 6 or higher.

While Kobe beef presides over the entire menu, Shinatora Ya’s extensive culinary offerings are completed by other meats such as crispy farm chicken with curry or pork in panko with Japanese curry. There is also room for traditional hot pots such as Sukiyaki and Shabu-Shabu, gyozas, sashimi or makis, as well as king crab, shrimp in tempura or sea urchin.

The decoration of the restaurant keeps all the flavor of the New York establishments and its walls are speckled with photos of Frank Sinatra, completing this tribute with a soft musical thread in which the most successful songs of The Voice are played.
