The Limited Editions of cigars that arrive to us

Habanos Limited Editions are special series of different Cuban cigar brands whose tobaccos have been specially selected for them and then cared for and aged for a period of no less than two years.

The great thing about these Limited Editions is not only that they are new and novel vitolas, but also the fact that they have a limited production run, so that once all their cigars have been sold, they can no longer be found or purchased.

The truth is that by the time the Limited Editions reach us, there has already been a long process of selection, care and aging of the tobaccos that compose them, since it is the master cigar makers who choose in each harvest those leaves that deserve to be treated with greater diligence to ensure those special lines of cigars.

The Habanos that make up these editions are highly valued by aficionados from all over the world because they are vitolas that are not usually in the portfolio of global brands, so precisely in these weeks the Limited Editions presented at the 2019 International Habano Festival have arrived in the cellars, and although they have been a long time coming, we can already enjoy them in Spanish cellars.

The wrapper that dresses these Habanos, coming from the upper foliar floors of the plant in the vegas where the so-called Tabaco Tapado is grown, is another of the characteristics that identify them, as it is usually slightly darker than the wrapper of the vitolas of the permanent range of the corresponding brands and they are made with the best tobacco leaves from the vegas of Vuelta Abajo, in the western province of Pinar del Río.

Three are the cigars that arrive: Montecristo Supremos, Ramón Allones No.2 and Quai D’Orsay Senadores, with different formats and composition of their inner binders; in addition, the 2019 Limited Editions incorporate as a novelty new wooden packaging with very innovative designs and that have the colors of their respective brands.

Montecristo Supremos Ed. Limitada 2019 is a medium-strength Habano that envelops us with its aromas of dried fruits, vanilla and leaves traces of cocoa, in a galley vitola called Montesco.

Ramón Allones No.2 is a pyramid of the kind known in the Campana galley, which has an intense tobacco flavor, somewhat earthy, very toasted and roasted, with a rather sweet and spicy background.

The third of our 2019 Limited Editions is the Quai D’ Orsay Senadores, which comes in a Gran Corona size, with a mild flavor in keeping with the brand’s lineage, which was born in the seventies of the last century and was only sold in French tobacconists until just a few years ago, when it was decided to distribute it worldwide.

These three splendid novelties can be found in the cellars and very specifically in those that are called Especialistas en Habanos and Habanos Point, which are those tobacconists that have turned the sale of these cigars into true gourmet stores with their well-equipped and well-stocked establishments.
