The mechanical offer of the new generation Bentley Flying Spur is enriched with the arrival of the expected V8 engine. A lighter mechanics that allows to make the Bentley super luxury sedan a more efficient model. All this without sacrificing the performance provided by its 550 hp.
The new Bentley Flying Spur V8 has burst onto the scene. The new generation of Bentley’s super-luxury sedan enriches its mechanical offer with the arrival of a very interesting engine that will position itself as the access option.
Following in the footsteps of the new Bentley Bentayga, the Flying Spur also features a V8 engine that, although it achieves very good performance levels, offers a significant improvement in efficiency compared to the W12 engine available exclusively to date.
The new Flying Spur came with a powerful and huge 6.0-liter W12 engine with more than 630 hp. Now, Bentley introduces this variant that will allow to structure the offer much better and, above all, offer a less compromised alternative to the traditional W12 block.

Aesthetically there are changes and differentiating features, although in general terms we can say that the design is maintained.

The new Bentley Flying Spur V8 design
Bentley places special emphasis on the fact that in recent years numerous Flying Spur owners have decided to dispense with their chauffeur to enjoy the experience of driving this true vessel of luxury, comfort and elegance themselves. This change in trend has been seen especially in North America and China. It is on this premise that the new Flying Spur V8 has been developed.
The grille, lower grille and air inlets at the front are finished in black. At the rear are four oval tailpipes and very well integrated with a discreet but evident diffuser. In addition, to all this we must add the V8 badge and 20-inch wheels equipped as standard.
If we venture into the interior of the new Flying Spur V8 we will be enveloped by a warm, comfortable, elegant and, above all, very luxurious. It is available in four or five-seat configuration.
It has a long list of driving assistance systems and the multimedia platform with 12.3-inch touchscreen offers a high level of connectivity.
It is compatible with Apple CarPlay. It is also possible to maintain some control over the vehicle remotely via the My Bentley mobile app available for both Apple iOS and Android devices.

The V8 engine of the new Bentley Flying Spur
If we take a look under the hood of the new Flying Spur V8 we will find a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing an output of 550 hp and 770 Nm of peak torque. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 318 km / h. Impressive figures if we take into account the type of vehicle in front of which we find ourselves.
On the other hand, and to maximize efficiency, the V8 engine can shut down four of its eight cylinders in light load conditions and when torque demand is less than 235 Nm. The change is imperceptible to the driver. The result of using this cylinder deactivation technology is an improvement in fuel efficiency of up to 16%. Emission levels are also improved.
At this point it is important to note the fact that the new Flying Spur V8 is 100 kilograms lighter than the W12 version. This makes the vehicle feel more agile. In addition, and unsurprisingly, it echoes Bentley’s latest powertrain and chassis advances. Adaptive air suspension, driving dynamics control, electric steering, etc… And as if that were not enough, it is possible to equip the 48-volt electric active anti-roll system and electronic steering on all four wheels to gain more agility.
