Modernism in the jewelry of Isabel Guarch

Isabel Guarch creates a universe of fine jewelry inspired by the tradition and beauty of Mallorca’s Mediterranean.

Isabel Guarch

Isabel Guarch is the second generation of one of the most traditional and prestigious jewelry families in Mallorca. Her mother created the firm Isabel Guarch in 1957 in a private studio and in a very short time it managed to become one of the benchmarks of high jewelry thanks to word of mouth that highlighted the quality of their designs and personal treatment. Thirty years ago the generational leap took place and Isabel Guarch daughter took over from her mother developing her passion for design that has accompanied her throughout her life conquering personalities such as H.M. Queen Emeritus Doña Sofia.

Isabel has followed in her mother’s footsteps, learning from her experience and contributing her knowledge of design and gemology, acquired at the prestigious BJO design school in Paris. Since 2005 Isabel Guarch creates an annual capsule collection of Mediterranean pieces, inspired by tradition, culture and the Balearic spirit that reproduces the lifestyle of the islands, with a timeless and iconic character.

Today her designs are sold in El Corte Inglés, throughout Spain via e-commerce and specialized points of sale. During the pandemic she has also presented Isabel Guarch Tresors and has created a premium space in Palma de Mallorca, L’Atelier, with all the security measures, prior appointment and personalized advice dedicated to fine jewelry.

Architecture turned into jewelry

Modernismo 1903 is Isabel Guarch’s new collection inspired by the architecture of the Gran Hotel de Mallorca.

Isabel Guarch continues to look to Mallorca and the Mediterranean for inspiration to shape her collections. On this occasion, architecture has been the source of inspiration to give life to her collection, Modernismo 1903.

A small iron flower forged in El Gran Hotel has served as a starting point for Isabel Guarch to create Modernismo 1903. A collection that pays tribute to the beauty of a great bygone era.

The beauty of the emblematic Gran Hotel de Mallorca, current headquarters of Caixa Forum, built by Luis Domenech i Montaner in 1903 and one of the most important modernist buildings in Mallorca, has been captured by Isabel Guarch in unique pieces where with great skill and craftsmanship has reproduced the most representative aspects of the building.

Delicate silhouettes and curved lines that Isabel Guarch has turned into rings, earrings, pendants and bracelets where the absolute protagonism is taken by the 18 kl gold that is intertwined to create designs that perfectly reproduce the grandeur of the Majorcan modernist architecture.

A collection in which Isabel Guarch only adds small touches of color from the hand of precious stones such as rhinestones, baroque pearls, natural aquamarines or prehnites that slide through the curves of the jewels if you want to leave the design without stones.

The message of the letters

Isabel Guarch together with the writer Maria de la Pau Janer has created a collection, Noms, which unites letters and jewelry.

Isabel Guarch and Maria de la Pau Janer are united by a friendship of years, in which the shared experiences are added to the passion of both for creation and the deep love they feel for the Mediterranean and the sea.

The union of all these elements has given rise to a special and unique collaboration, in which both have contributed what most represents them: jewelry and letters, from this union Noms was born.

Noms is a collection of initials made of 18 karat gold and precious stones with a very special design in which they have sought to extol both the design of the letter and the beauty of the jewel.

Isabel Guarch has created a line of initials made in gold and in which she captures the Mediterranean Sea through the texture of gold reminiscent of sand and quartz, pearls and turquoises that reflect the colors of Mallorca.

The Noms collection is completed with other designs in which gold is used for the chain, while precious stones are combined to form the initials.
