Ever since I was a child, I felt an immense need to be different, even though my parents told me that we are all the same. Outwardly we are all the same, but our mentality is what differentiates us, I always felt that I had to create something that represented all the people like me who have felt different, “Black Sheep” wherever it was, whether it was at school, at home or at university, who has not felt that way at some point?
I liked skateboarding, hence my love for caps, I loved drawing at home and in the streets, later I was an urban artist. I liked music, I ended up being a DJ and electronic music producer, all different hobbies, I always went against the grain, I always did the opposite of what my parents said. According to my mother, I should have been a doctor, an engineer or a lawyer. This earned me the label of being the black sheep of the family.
They made me believe that being a “black sheep” was a bad thing, I never really believed them hahaha. I always knew that one day I would do something great and I could prove them wrong, I just had to believe in myself and when I did, the magic happened.
As the years went by and I gained a lot of experience, one thing was clear to me, I had to dedicate myself to something I was passionate about, how was I going to do that? I had a plan, I had to create a brand that would represent me and all the people who, like me, felt like “Black Sheep”.
In 2019, I definitely started the most important project of my life, Oblack Caps, for many a cap brand, but let me tell you, this is much more than that.
That’s how the Oblack concept was born, which stands for “O” for oveja and “Black” for Black Sheep (oveja in spanish). I already had the name, now we had to create a company and make it a way of life, and if we could monetize it, then great. We chose a record label, it was called Oblack Label. It was founded in Ibiza and that’s where the first Oblack caps came from.
We are a community of Black Sheep, where all kinds of people live together, no matter what your profession is, what religion you practice, what soccer team you play for, or what political party you belong to, we make no distinctions here, we are all Oblack.
Our trademark is the cap, it’s how we tell the world that we are authentic and that we have found our way. As you can see, it’s not just about the caps, it’s about the opportunity to feel unique and free, to belong to a great community that is growing every day, represented by internationally recognized ambassadors, will you join our revolution?
