Madrid Fashion Week began in 1985 in a circus tent located in Plaza Colón, where six designers from Madrid presented their collections. Since then the catwalk has undergone major transformations, both in location and size.

The next edition was located at the Railway Museum in the old Delicias station. The designers were no longer only from Madrid, Juanjo Rocaforf, Jesús del Pozo, Elisa Bracci, Roberto Verino or Adolfo Dominguez also joined to present their collections.

In 1986, it moved to the fairgrounds of the Casa de Campo, further expanding its participants, the catwalk was very far away and is when it moves to the fairgrounds of the Palace of Congresses and Exhibitions. In this edition designers such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada stand out.

During these years big names in the design of our country, such as Victorio & Lucchino, Antonio Alvarado or Devota & Lomba are seen. In addition, Spanish tops such as Martina Klein or Nieves Alvarez began to parade.

In 1995 it moved to the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I, and the next year it began to form part of the IFEMA organization, integrated in the Fashion Week.
