Berta Martín is behind this brand, a passionate fashionista who opened her brand’s first store in the Salamanca district of Madrid when she was only 24 years old. With this new Poète, we get also close to that of the Salesas to delight the most feminine among all. What will you find in the new Poète store … As always, the selected clothes that Berta creates in line with the trends shown in the Parisian showrooms and now, also, its first collection of bikinis and accessories, blouses and dresses. Berta Martín

Fashion designer of Poète, a Spanish fashion firm created in 2010 that has managed to become a benchmark of French style in Spain. Creator of elegant designs, feminine and with a personal touch.

Hello Berta, I’m completely in love with your designs! Tell us when you got the fashion bug and what you like most about your profession.
First of all, thank you very much for the opportunity.

The truth is that I’ve always liked fashion, since as early as I can remember. And I had it clear that I was going to dedicate myself to the world of fashion, one way or another.

What I like the most in my profession is that one is always creating… that’s what happens to me, if I’m going out for a dinner, or I go to the movies or if I’m simply walking down the street, I always have an open mind to sit timuli and ideas.

Did it cost you too much effort to get known and establish your own line?
Well, the truth is that it was not very fast, since I opened my first store, I have always liked my concept a lot.

I believe that people value what is different, not being like others, and that is why success has come.

Your designs have an identity of their own. How do you manage your brand?
Well, as I told you the clothes of Poète, they are different, they are romantic, feminine garments, with a very marked French style, always in line with the trends, if we abandoned those characteristics we would lose the essence and we would stop being Poète, to become just another brand.

What advice would you give to women who want to be designers like you or that want to create their own line?
Go ahead! It’s important to be very clear about the concept, and as soon as you have it, do not leave it.

Who would you like to dress?
Well the truth that my reference in fashion has always been Olivia Palermo, and whenever they asked me this question, I gave this same answeP, but the truth is that that dream has already been fulfilled and we have already dressed her three times, so what like to continue dressing her more regularly.

What garment do you consider indispensable for this spring-summer season?
Knitwear, especially dresses. This year we have a very different collection while still being very Poète, where the star garments are the dresses and in this case the knitwear, a must this season.

What opinion do you have about Spanish fashion?
I think that the Spanish fashion is very advanced, you just need to look at one of the main global brands comes from Spanish.

What is your dream? Where would you like to go?
I would like the brand to be known all over the world, keep opening stores, and for that we must continue working hard and focused.

If they told you that you have to choose only one garment or accessory from your dressing room, which would you choose?
A purse. I do not usually dress up much, but I always carry a good bag, no matter where I go.

Thank you very much Berta for your time, congratulations for your achievements and hope you keep reaping successes!
Many thanks to you. And especially for always havingme on your mind.
